In 1994, a group of Melrose residents interested in the arts decided to give North Shore dancers an opportunity to perform in a full-length production of The Nutcracker. After one year of fund-raising efforts in the community, a Board of Directors was formed and enough money was raised to pay for the stunning scenery and costumes that make ballet productions so special.  Since 1995, MYB has made The Nutcracker an annual tradition in the city of Melrose. This classic ballet has been staged annually at Melrose Memorial Hall. On average, our youth cast consists of hundreds of dancers from more than 20 surrounding communities, enrolled in as many as 30 different dance studios.
