Backstage
-
The backstage is reserved for dancers and assigned personnel only.
-
Due to capacity limits:
-
Act One- Dancers who are only in Act One will be escorted during intermission to a designated space near concessions where assigned personnel will monitor them until the completion of the show. Dancers will then be dismissed at the staircase by the main lobby. Parents, guardians, and all other members of the audience are NOT to enter the dancer area.
-
Act Two- Dancers who are only in Act Two will be monitored in a designated space near concessions where assigned personnel will monitor them until intermission. Dancers will then be escorted backstage. Dancers will be dismissed by the right stage door at the completion of the performance.
-
When escorting dancers, we kindly ask that parents, guardians, and members of the audience refrain from coming up to their dancer(s), pulling them aside for photos or hugs, etc. as it presents safety concerns and can delay the performance.
-
Dancers are NOT to text their parents or guardians to pick them up earlier, for money, or make any other requests.
-
If your dancer has a medical or other extenuating reason as to why they may need assistance from a parent or guardian during showtime, please email us prior to the performances to have your request reviewed for approval or denial.

Dismissal
-
At Melrose Youth Ballet we take the safety of our dancers very seriously. We ask that parents and guardians please understand that while we recognize wanting to pick up your dancer immediately after the show, we need to make sure each dancer is accounted for and is dismissed properly.
-
Parents or guardians picking up their dancers are required to wait behind the roped off area to give the assigned personnel and dancers room.
-
Although we understand there are many audience members excited to see their dancer(s), we kindly ask that all family and friends refrain from blocking the dismissal area.
-
-
If you would like to dismiss your dancer during intermission, you must submit a note at each check in for each performance.
-
Dancers who do not have a note CANNOT be dismissed early.
